The fly’s eyes each come out as spikes most likely to keep the eyes free from any pollen trying to blind them. This fly is so unique it has been given a new insect family. Its scientific name is Cascoplecia insolitis meaning old and strange. The scientists have guessed the specimen to be one hundred million years old.

Do you think these were as common as house flies are today?

What other interesting animals do you think they will find next?

No, I don’t think that this fly is like the common house fly. I mean come on it has what 5 eyes, including it’s horns? Definatley not a common house fly. They sound more…vicious. Defesive. Who knows what animal they may discover next. Maybe it’ll be an unknown reptile. That would be cool.

Well, we don’t know because we dont have flies close enough to tell if they have 3 horns or not. And, if it has been around that long it very well could be. No one can know what we could find next. We have only explored 10% of our oceans and not that much of our densest rainforests.

I think these are as common as houseflies are today. I mean, we JUST discovered this kind of fly. We don’t know how common they are but i think that there are probably as many out there as common houseflies, we just have to find them.

I think that these may have been as common as housflies are now but we have a lot of houseflies and if they were as common as houseflies they would be really annoying. I have no clue what new animal scientists will find next but there are tons of discoveries waiting out there. Especially in the ocean.
