Women can save the planet…?

How can women save the planet (? I know we’re pretty and all… but come on? The PLANET? Well, let me explain. Women are the ones who have the children in this world. Right now we have a population of over 6 billion people on earth. By the year 2050 the population will have increased to about 9 billion people. If the world continues to consume the amount of energy that we are now, in the year 2050 with more than 9 billion people, the energy consumption rate will more than double what it is now. This will contribute to global warming and poluting the environment. So in order to stop the population from growing so dramatically we need to educate the women of the world. Areas of the world that can least cope such as India, Somalia, and Sudan, put huge amounts of pressure on the fresh water sources and sanitation needs. They are unable to provide the food and water resources needed to feed ALL of their people. And like Asia, by the year of 2050 statistics show that the continent will no longer have the ability to feed the expected 1.5 billion people to come. The world is becoming over populated. So to work against the over population we need to educate the women, so that they can control their fertility rates. Educating the women is not the only thing that we need to do to save the planet though. But it’s a great start! Educate the women instead of sending all these people to war! What other solutions can you think of that will help save the planet?

Do you think women really can save the planet?

In order to reproduce it takes a woman and a man. So men need to be educated just as much, not just women.

Ethan you do have a point… I have to say that not only educating women will help our planet (I am not even sure that is a way to help the planet) but, we could also use the idea of using the electric cars, that would really help our planet out.
Another way we could help the planet is everyone can start recycling. Only a part of the world is recycling if we could get everyone together and start recycling everything, imagine how much that would help, Just think about it. I do not think that women can “save the earth” because, you can’t just say ” ummm… the world is over populated so you can’t have a kid” that is not right either. I think there are other ways we can help the earth than that.

Ya, I guess that’s true. So then both women AND men need to work together, so that we don’t overpopulate the planet. Right? You have a good point.

I think we do need to start looking at the current population growth and ways to help slow it down. I’m not saying we need to be all controling and say u can only have a kid or two, or none at all. But I think more people need to look to adoption. Those kids are already here and stuck in these buildings without a family. Think of it like recyling. Instead of making more we can just raise the children that are already here. It helps them out and cuts back on the population boom.

I think women have what it takes to do anything. Women could probably save the planet if we all could work together as a team and not get to competitive with each other. Women are very smart so I do think we could save the planet.
