Do Both Genders Of Mosquitoes Drink Blood?

October 30th, 2009

Only female mosquitoes drink blood???

Have you ever wondered if both genders of mosquitoes drink blood? Do you think it’s both genders that drink blood? Or do you think it’s just one gender? The answer is that only females drink blood. The reason for this is because she needs to have protien and iron supplements from out blood for her eggs before she lays them.

Mosquito is known by the spanish term of “little fly”. There are many different kinds of mosquitoes. So many as 3500 different species. That’s alot of mosquito bites! Not only do the females drink blood, but they also collect nectar like the males do as well. Females don’t necassarily need blood for their own survival, but they need them for their eggs mainly.

Most mosquitoes are crepuscular, meaning they mainly feed during dawn or dusk, or if they are disturbed otherwise. But some species, like the Asian Tiger Mosquito, will feed in the daytime.

Better put on some bug spray. Wouldn’t want to get bit by mosquitoes, some can actually carry diseases, so it’s important that you watch out for them. Plus just getting bit by an otherwise clean one would make a spot that would be inflamed, red, swollen, and very very itchy. But if you do, find some kind of cream to help reduce the itching and swelling.

Some people think that mosquitoes are pests who are good for nothing, do you think they might actually be good for something?

Mosquitoes come out during either dawn or dusk to feed, why do you think this might be?

I think that mosquitos have to be good for somwthing. Everything on earth has a purpose we just have to find what the purpose is.

I think that mosquitoes are good for nothing, and there is no reason for them to be here. I also think that mosquitoes feed during dawn and dusk because it is cooler for them to feed.

I know it sounds weird but everything has its place, even mosquitos. Without them certain fish wouldn’t have anything to eat because all they eat is mosquito larvea. So if there were no mosquitos another speicies of fish would vanish forever.

I am sure that mosquitoes are good for something, because God wouldn’t have made them if they didn’t have a purpose. But I really wish that their bites wouldn’t be so itchy and annnoying. I think that maybe why they only feed at dawn and dusk is because they are safer and it carries less of a risk of them getting killed because people are more drowsy.

I that one day mosquitoes might someday be good for something but for now they are just a nusence. I think that they only come out in dawn or dusk because they are cold blooded so they could be anywhere in the daytime with the sun beating down on them but not at night with the cold wind so they use street lamps or fire for warmth when they realized that where there’s light there is people/blood.

I myself don’t like mosquitoes at all and think that they are good for nothing besides spreading uneeded diseases. Mosquitoes come out during dawn or dusk to feed because thats when most of the bugs and animals are out and busy doing something, so it makes it easier for them to feed without them noticing.

I think that mosquitoes are good for something, even if we dont know what it is yet. Everything is put on Earth for a reason. I think that mosquitoes feed at dawn or dusk because it is cooler then.

Mosquitoes are annoying and bother lots of people. I think they are pests and that they do not do anything on earth. When it gets hot you don’t see very many of them and I think thats why they feed in the morning and at night.

I don’t think mosquitoes are good for anything. They just suck your blood, so that they can make more little blood sucking pests! I’m just glad they aren’t out in the winter, at least it’s only the summer and early fall! I think they feed at dawn and dusk because the temperature is cooler. Or maybe they feed at dawn because most of us are sleeping and we’re easy targets! No, I’m just kidding.

i think they have to be good for some thing becuase what would happen if they were gone? Just like spiders they bite us and to be honest there scary. But they get rid of alot of bugs. And if they were all gone the other bugs would take over the world. So they got to be good for some thing.

I’m sure that they’re good for something, but I don’t see what. And I think that they suck blood (sounds vampire-y) at those times because that’s when we’re sleeping. There’s less of a chance of being smacked.

Mosquitoes are good for nothing and need to vanish off the face of the earth so the only reason I would want to mosquitoes is to be rid of them my self. Maybe they just can’t see that well in the day time.
