A New Ocean!!!
Africa now has a huge crack in it… This will cause a new ocean to be formed. This large crack is about 20 feet wide in some spots. This rift has not yet been studied very good though. Using newly gathered information from 2005 researchers reconstructed the event to show the rift has torn open to a near 35 mile long gap. Dabbahu, a volcano at the north end of the gap, erupted and then the magma (lava) continued “unzipping” the large gap. Results show that highly active volcanic boundaries along the edges of ocean plates may soon break in large sections instead of smaller sections like scientist were hoping. The large plates between Africa and Arabia have been slowly spreading apart through rifts like this one at nearly the fast speed of less than 1 inch per year for the last 30 million years.
Do you think that Africa and Arabia will ever be connected?
What do you think about this?

Some plates are moving apart some are moving together. These particular plates happen to be moving apart thus making a depression in the ground and eventually forming an ocean.

There might be a chance of them connecting, but I don’t think that they will ever connect. Other people might feel different on this, but there’s not a good chance of it happening.

Obviously if the crack is widening then they arn’t going to get closer together any time soon. It dosn’t really affect me so i coulcn’t care less if we get a new ocean.

I think that it will connect because trough out the time the earth has been here it has slowly moved and with the movement of the continents it should connect Arabia and Africa.

That is amazing how the volcano could effect the land like that to split it open. I think that this will effect africa severly.

I think that eventually they will be connected and slowly build a mountain after connecting to a couple of other of places along the way. I think that the possibiliy of another ocean is great but I would have to memmorize another location and name. The more areas that carry water the better.

I think that adventually there will be another ocean because the technonic plates are always shifting, and since there is already a gap thats going further apart instead of closer together, I think there will be.

I do think that maybe they will be one but it’s not something to worry about. I personally think all the stuff happening around us are the signs of Jesus coming back.So if Arabia and Africa are splitting apart then don’t get caught in the water!!

They could connect in maybe one day but for a long time they won’t connect and it’s not that big of deal if they connect.

I think that eventually everything will be connected. The world is always changing so there is no reason it could’nt happen. Montains move so I am sure waters can make a new path and flow somewhere else.

It really doesnt matter if a new ocean is formed. they are all conected anyway we just gave them different names is all. This rift will just a place where more of the ocean will slip into and will have water in it is all. Personally, I could care less.

Ithink there is a possablility that there could actually be another ocean made out of this. Kind of scary to think about it though, another ocean. I think that the process of another ocean being formed will take another few million years.

I don’t think they will connect anytime soon. Not if they’re getting further apart. Possibly over time they will connect.

I think that there may be a chance of these two connecting, but not in our lifetime. I agree with tffany that these are just signs of Jesus coming back and we don’t need to worry.

I think that they will connect. The world does change and i think as a result of this Arabia and Africa will combine. If they do i dont really think it will cause that big of a problem.
